Bible Reading

Lately I have found myself looking for a good story to lose myself in. I looked through the bookshelf and wondered which one I could lose my thoughts to a good action story. Just then I found a book, not an ordinary book but one full of stories. The Bible!! Recently I stumbled across the book of 1Samuel. I find myself lost in the images of a woman who would want something so deeply she would give a solemn vow to God if she could just taste the blessings of motherhood. And then she was given a son and she kept her bargain with God. And all the blessings she received even after her vow was fulfilled.
And then the book just rolls along with drama. It is filled with wonder and God's promises and His wrath. I find myself going to be early to read more of what is in store for God's people. And all the while learning that God is faithful and full of hope even in our day. 2Samuel hasn't been a snooze either. King David and his action packed story is amazing.
The Bible, it's not just for study anymore. :o)
